A friend from Taiwan works as a chef in a posh hotel in Glasgow, but must work 75 hrs a week,is this legal?

I know about 'working time directive' and so on 46hrs most, but what can he do without compromising its position. I don 't think that is being paid the minimum wage one or the other, however, has allowed two days off per week.

r u seirous , 1 5 – 16 hrs a day. he must be rich. if he is not, then the hotel can be sued for descriminating their workers.

Chef management is usually a salaried position but line cook can also fall into that category depending on the job.
It is not unusual to work 65-80 hours a week.
