Why is it necessary for some ‘Men of God’ to be outragously wealthy?

mesquitemachine asked:

A certain background … I work at a hotel sciccoso in Dallas, TX. The Bishop TD Jakes and Benny Hinn are frequent guests (not at the same time of course). Why is it necessary to Benny Hinn to spend upwards of $ 1000/night for the presidential series for days at a time? Because the TD Jakes driving around the city in the $ 500,000 Bentley? If these men were truly 'Men of God', wouldn 't use that money spent on such frivolous things to help the poor? Help addicts who try to recover? Anything but inflame the money their churches are bringing in from people who believe their money is going toward the plants legitimate?

Wish I could argue with you on that one but you are right.

I think that deep down inside, we all the answer to that one.

That does not send a good message, does it? I don’t have an answer. Pray for them. That is so wrong. Remember though – they are not perfect, no one is. They need prayer and they need to get right with God.

Nothing wrong with wealth, and nothing wrong with blowing it on oneself. TD Jakes and Benny Hinn are clearly frauds, yet people keep believing in them and supporting them. It’s sad, really.

Ideally, yeah, but that’s their beef with God.
Don’t worry about their lives, just worry about your own.

Some things are justifiable, for example if he travels with a security and assistant laden entourage, he may need the space a presidental suit offers, MAYBE.

However, there’s zero justification for blowing 500 g’s on a car for someone in that position.

Cause they are making money selling religion to the fools. The government also gives them tax relief.

The Bible says that “It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a wealthy man to enter the gates of Heaven. You have pretty much answered your own question.

In the LDS church there is no paid ministry. Everyone volunteers everything just as Christ did.

Hi there, I certainly agree with your sentiments, just how many down thru the last 2,000yrs have used Jesus and the Gospels to make money, those who do this excuse themselves by harping on that they are doing Gods work when really , they have an unhealthy love of money and its rewards.
All sorts of excuses are made but you cant change what has been revealed, i.e you cannot serve God and Mammon.

You have eyes to see and your spirit is being nudged by God’s spirit. I believe that you are asking the correct questions.

    2 Peter 2:1-3 (Amplified Bible

    2 Peter 2
1BUT ALSO [in those days] there arose false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among yourselves, who will subtly and stealthily introduce heretical doctrines (destructive heresies), even denying and disowning the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2And many will follow their immoral ways and lascivious doings; because of them the true Way will be maligned and defamed.

3And in their covetousness (lust, greed) they will exploit you with false (cunning) arguments. From of old the sentence [of condemnation] for them has not been idle; their destruction (eternal misery) has not been asleep.

  17. Ray G Says:

These men as well as many other Pentecostal and charismatics believe in a false doctrine called Health and Wealth. Basically they state that God wants you rich as well as healthy. This is not correct. Both of these men lead many astray.

David Cloud of has a great book documenting the errors
